The 49th annual Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE) is just around the corner, and you won’t want to miss out on this year’s action! Whether you’re a cowboy, or a city boy, the NILE has something for everyone. New to the NILE

Battle on the Yellowstone Timed Events Challenge- Sunday, October 16
New to the NILE is the Battle on the Yellowstone Timed Events Challenge.¬†Twenty contestants will compete in team roping–heading and heeling, tie down roping, and steer wrestling. Each contestant will do all four events, whoever has the fastest total time wins. There will be three rounds and a Calcutta. The first round begins at 9 a.m. followed immediately by the second round. Calcutta 5:30 p.m. followed by the third and final¬†round at 6 p.m.

The NILE strives to preserve and embrace the Western way of life, and one way of doing that is supporting the arts. Montana is home to many talented western artists and this year the NILE is incorporating them into the stock show and rodeo. Art display’s will be hosted in the SkyBox area on the 3rd floor of the RimRock Auto Arena. Bronzes, paintings and other pieces of art can be viewed, and purchased while enjoying a cocktail before the rodeo starts. Proceeds from the sales benefit the NILE Foundation.
